1. By Air

Flying is the fastest and most convenient way to reach Tangier, especially for international travelers.

Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG) is located around 12–14 km from the city center. It receives flights from several European cities, the Middle East, and other Moroccan destinations. Airlines serving Tangier commonly include Royal Air Maroc, Ryanair, Air Arabia, and other seasonal or low-cost carriers.

Transportation from Tangier Airport

Airport taxis:
Taxis are the easiest option, especially if you have luggage or arrive late. The journey to the city center usually takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Tangier Ville Port

This port is close to the city center and is the most convenient option for travelers arriving as foot passengers. It is commonly used for ferries from Tarifa, Spain. The crossing usually takes around 1 hour, depending on the operator and sea conditions.

From Tangier Ville Port, you can reach the old medina, city center, Marina area, and many hotels by taxi or even on foot, depending on your destination.

Tangier Med Port

Tangier Med is a large international port located outside the city, around 40–45 km from central Tangier. It is commonly used for ferries from Algeciras, Spain, and other international routes.

From Tangier Med, travelers can continue to Tangier by taxi, private transfer, or ALSA bus connection toward Tanger Ville / the train station area. The journey usually takes around 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic and the transport option used.

4. By Car

Driving to Tangier is a good option for travelers who want flexibility or plan to explore northern Morocco.

Tangier is connected to Morocco’s motorway network, including the A1 highway.

  • From Casablanca: around 4 hours

  • From Rabat: around 3 hours

  • From Tetouan: around 1 hour

  • From Asilah: around 40 minutes
